Hilmy (EmmaHunt4) is maybe one of the most recognized members in the Dollywood Streets. We all know him, probably because he's always featured in Magazines. He's not another member from this society. He's one of the most appreciated ones, because his amability, sense of humor and the great personality he has. This time, he'll be behind the scenes in his own project as Editor and Owner from Risque Magazine. I'll be making a review from the magazine, here in Dollywood Life. For making this in a way more eficent, please follow the review with the Bracets I will give you. Credit from the bracets idea to Sieera (iswim19). This Magazine has 29 pages, and the Cover would be [1/29]
DESIGN |
Risque was released by the end of May, which is spring starting summer. The Magazine at all has too much black and gray. I completely understand it is a Fashion Magazine, and Black is never out. But the cover is in a way too glamorous and not so much striking. Everything has that Color. When I think about Spring, I think about flowers, nature, and cute light colors such as pink, green and violet. When I think about Summer, I think about shorts, sun, beaches, ocean and colors such as red, yellow and blue. I don't know if I have gotten a different concept about summer and spring, but I think it wasn't supossed to be so classic. It's glamorous, classic, fashionable and stylish. But I wouldn't say the desing is appropiate for a Spring/Summer Issue. [6/10]
WRITING STYLE |
I like the concept. He is wanting to show us fashion trends, and that's perfect. Magazines are about that. But a little bit more of punctuation could have been better. Articles without commas, points and sometimes two different ideas mixed in one sentence, just because the punctuation wasn't present there. I enjoyed the ''Type of Fashion: Retro'' [12/29] and ''Top Trend: Peplum'' [8/29] articles. They were amazing, so true and I loved the editorials. But I noticed that it didn't sound properly or professional. It sounded like a blogger a-lil-bit messy post. Everything sounded like notes or personal opinions. The ''Alexander McQueen'' article [15-16/29], the ''Jean Paul Gaultier'' article [17/29], and the ''Leona Lewis'' article [22/29] and the ''Bastille'' article [23/29] seem a copy-paste from wikipedia. I'd loved him to read, and give something we didn't know about them. Like facts. In my personal opinion stardoll magazines which put biographies from famous people are getting out from the original concept, which is Stardoll, Graphics, Fashion between others. Is not something I'm, and maybe others, are looking for in a Dollywood magazine- To be honest, nobody reads those articles about famous people biographies. [6/10]
PHOTOSHOOTS |
Some of the Photoshoots were absolutely stunning. I like the professionalism that this magazine is trying to show us. Is cool seeing the pictures because some of them make me feel so inspired and fashionable because it's luxury appearance. I loved them completely. But they are not according to the central theme. The Magazine is about fashion, is good, but for me is disorganized. It has no focus, no central topic, nothing is fully organized or distributed. I like the pictures, but them are too much strong for the Spring/Summer topic. I don't know if Hilmy wasn't thinking exactly about a Spring/Summer issue, or him just made the magazine in his own taste and decissions, based in the fashion and non in the season, but it's a great issue. I would have loved beach photoshoots, with bikinis, shorts, floral printed skirts and dresses. This pictures were too much luxurious. But I'm criticizing the photoshoots, and non the topic. Pictures were amazing, and they have potential and talented photographers. The best had to be Khol's (Hollyoaksrocks*) feature. She's maybe one of the biggest models of dollywood. She's our Cara Delevingne with her fresh, comfy, cute, and crazy american-british teenager style and humor sense. In other words, I love Khol. Nice Graphics! [8/10]
FASHION AND TRENDS |
Trends were absolutely cute. I wouldn't say that my favorite ones, or maybe the perfect ones for the Spring/Summer Issue. But absolutely he showed us the trends, with fundaments and arguments that showed and teached us how to rock our style. I enjoyed reading the fashion trends, because they were nice. I'd say these articles were the opposite from the Famous People articles. They were fresh, and Hilmy showed he did reasearch in multiple sites, magazines and books, readed and tried to understand the trend and apply it on the daily glamourous fashion style from our medolls. [8/10]
OVERALL |
Completely will wait for the Magazine's next issue, and enjoy while reading every single little article and fashion trends paragraphs. This magazine worths, because has a simple, classic, luxurious and glamorous style, specially when it comes about Photoshoots because without any dount these magazine has amazing photographers and one of the sweetest and prettiest dollywodians as it's editor in chief. Will wait happy the next issue from these magazine, although I expected more trends, and a central topic, and less Famous People copy and paste biographies. [7/10]
THIS MAGAZINE SCORED 35 FROM 50 POSSIBLE POINTS, AND IT WOULD BE A ''B''
Until Next Time,
